My Bio
Originally from London, England, Brian Dixon was trained in illustration at Woolwich Polytechnic Institute. After moving to Canada, he opened and operated a successful sign making company in Mississauga for over 20 years.

In 1992 he began painting full-time in his Birds' Nest Studio in Port Credit.
Now retired and living in Lindsay, Brian continues to create his unique, intensely geometrical abstract landscapes, portraits, and other imagery. Largely shunning traditional surfaces, he prefers the texture of corrugated board and a variety of printers' inks, acrylics, and occasionally oils.

Regarding the subliminal quality of his work, Brian had this to say: "There is always some level of the subconscious working, but I don't look for things. I don't process them − rather, they grow."

Originals are available for sale; see website below or my Etsy store
Brian has given me a CD full of new work, which I'll be posting over the next few days, as time allows.  Some of these are older pieces from his collection, but many are entirely new pieces he's been working on over the last year.  Alas, this time he hasn't given me any dimensions, materials, or titles, but I'll work on getting that information, I promise.

New Website...

0 min read
Brian now has a proper website (briandixon.ca) where you won't find any new material but if you are looking to purchase an original, you can find a link to his Etsy store (or you can skip the middle-man and go there right now). I was also really hoping to upload some of his erotic works, but alas, we can't find the cd with the images, so...  another time. Brian has also told me that he's working on some new stuff, and will supply me with photographic proof when these new pieces are complete.

Hello!

My name is Kris, and I am Brian's daughter-in-law - I maintain this gallery on behalf of the artist, who has a deep appreciation for technology but very little practical experience with it (he does not even own a computer).  I will happily pass along messages to him, and relay responses back to you.  Just...  don't expect instantaneous replies.  :) Most of the works contained here were created in the mid-to-late 90's or early 2000's.  He took a bit of a break but is now back at it, and new pieces will be posted here as they become available to me! I am also in the process of creating a website for Brian, and will up
